| Problem solving/Critical thinking |
|
Your ability to solve problems and to think critically is a very important transferrable skill that can be utilised in various situations. Problem solving is the ability to identify and evaluate problems and/or issues. You can then find practical solutions by effectively utilising the available time and resources. That is, it is the ability to think logically and critically about problems and issues. It is the process that can be used in different contexts. In a job related scenario these can involve difficult customers and how you resolved their issues. It will often be a combination of communication and problem solving skills. If you have no experience in a job situation then think of the ways you have analysed and solved problems during your studies. In research papers, you identify issues and then evaluate and analyse the situation using your knowledge and then reach a conclusion or solution to the issue. You have no excuse by, "Saying you don’t have any problem solving skills." Everyone encounters problems in their life. We often deal with them through a process, it is this process that is an example of problem solving/critical thinking.
