Advantage Foundation

The Advantage Foundation supports entrepreneurs, community leadership and enterprise development throughout WA. We do this through a range of initiatives such as Enterprising WA as well as direct support for young business people through:

  • Mentoring
  • Provision of office space and facilities at no cost
  • Networking
  • Assistance with idea generation

Enterprising WA

Enterprising WA in partnership with Rotary aims to bring enterprise development support to emerging entrepreneurs, social innovators and to disadvantaged individuals and communities. We also seek to build community and industry awareness about the value of developing an enterprising culture in Western Australia. Entrepreneurial endeavours inject growth, innovation and vitality into an economy and for individuals, it provides a compelling means for personal growth and self-actualisation.

Enterprising WA has many initiatives including:

Australian Business Icon Competition

Business Icon is an exciting annual competition for ambitious young people that tests and develops personal and professional skills.

The framework and judging criteria for Business Icon has been closely aligned with the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Employability Skills Framework . This framework recognises the skills employers seek when hiring new employees.

All Business Icon contestants will be able to give certification to employers proving their skills in communication, teamwork, ethics, innovation and enterprise.

Business Icon is currently being run in Western Australia and Queensland. Visit the Australian Business Icon website for more information.

Entrepreneurs Basecamp

Entrepreneurs’ Basecamp is a 4-day-camp designed to impart generic entrepreneurial skills and introduce the issues associated with creating new ventures. The camp is designed to motivate and prepare potential entrepreneurs for the long and challenging path ahead. It will be the first step for many in the opening up of business enterprises and creation of future wealth in Western Australia.
